Ryan's not originally from Dublin, or even Ireland, for that matter. He hails from just across the pond, in Boston, MA. He knows Caitlin from Cork, where he lived for two years after first coming to Ireland. When he decided he'd had enough of Cork, Dublin was his next port of call. Since the first appartment he found was, on actuality, a crackhouse, Caitlin suggested he move in with Dave and Rich.

It's not known exactly why he left the states, but you can be sure that it's not an interesting story!
